How to Apply for Financial Aid


Step 1. Submit your application for admission along with your official transcripts and standardized test results.

Step 2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We highly recommend that you file the FAFSA online You and one parent are required to secure Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) at If you prefer to file a paper FAFSA, see your high school guidance counselor.

In order to maximize all of your Financial Aid options we strongly recommend that all students file the FAFSA by March 1. The information you submit on the FAFSA determines your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant, state grants, federal loan programs, work-study and many Wesleyan scholarship and grant programs.

Note: Don't forget to import your tax return information into your FAFSA application as soon as three weeks after you have filed your taxes.


Important Information for WV and PA Students

West Virginia students may be considered for the West Virginia PROMISE and West Virginia Higher Education Grant Programs.

Pennsylvania students may be considered for the Pennsylvania Higher Education Grant.


Step 3. Review Wesleyan's scholarship opportunities and remember to submit each scholarship application by the indicated required deadline. West Virginia Wesleyan has a comprehensive financial aid program which attempts to help every qualified student who desires to attend.

  • Our goal is to make West Virginia Wesleyan College affordable.We offer competitive merit-based scholarships.

  • Need-based financial aid is awarded in the form of grants, loans, and student employment. Nearly 90 percent of Wesleyan students receive scholarships or need-based grants.

Wesleyan offers scholarship programs based on academic performance, talent, and/or extracurricular involvement. All scholarships, except athletic, are awarded after March 1. All scholarships are available for four years of undergraduate study. Some scholarships may require a separate application along with additional information.
